Hornby House

We supported the construction of a custom waterfront home on Hornby Island, navigating steep coastal terrain and sand-based soils. We assessed slope stability, determined geotechnical setbacks, and recommended site grading and foundation strategies suited to the conditions. With the site’s elevation changes and coastal exposure, we guided economical subgrade preparation and supervised engineered fill placement and slope stabilization. Our involvement ensured long-term site stability while preserving the natural landscape. The project team was able to move forward confidently, overcoming complex geotechnical challenges to build safely and sustainably on this striking oceanfront property.
