Madrona House

This high-end single-family residence was constructed on clay-based soils with poor drainage characteristics. Our geotechnical scope focused on providing a safe excavation plan and developing foundation recommendations to address long-term settlement risks. Temporary excavation support and staged excavation methods were implemented to maintain stability during construction. To ensure long-term performance, we recommended subgrade preparation that included over-excavation and replacement with engineered fill. Foundation support was provided through conventional spread footings bearing on improved subgrade, designed in accordance with site-specific settlement criteria.
