Project
McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant
- Completion: 2020
- Type: Industrial
- Location: Victoria, BC
As the geotechnical partner on the Capital Regional District’s landmark wastewater treatment project—including McLoughlin Point, the conveyance network, and Hartland Residuals Facility—we designed foundations and temporary shoring for marine-adjacent sites. Our scope included shoring for sensitive shoreline excavations, supported by detailed subsurface investigations and ongoing materials testing.
We addressed complex conditions like settlement, groundwater, and variable rock with braced excavation and dewatering strategies. Close coordination with design-build teams and real-time monitoring enabled schedule adherence and structural safety. Our geotechnical solutions supported the successful delivery of the region’s largest infrastructure project, achieving tertiary treatment standards and protecting Victoria Harbour for generations to come.
